Fabbian Pendant White Glass. Dimensions: Ø 36 cm – Cable: L 15 cm min. / 200 cm max. – Ceiling rose: Ø 12.3 x H 2.2 cm. The Armilla pendant is the result of remarkable glass work. The glass is blown into a round mould, then it is set into metal rings when it is still hot. The metal interlacing is filled with the molten glass, creating a wonderful surface in relief. This process creates a very graphical padded, almost organic effect. The sensual vocabulary and the visual sophistication which Armilla gives off speak to our emotions. It is a masterful, suggestive and impact piece, whether on or off. Designed by Lorenzo Truant, the Armilla lamp is inspired by the initial representations of the movement of the stars and the planets dating back to the Renaissance. During that period, Man used to create precise instruments, marked out by rings, called armillary spheres, with the earth at the centre. Then, over time and with the arrival of Copernicus' theories, the sun would become the centre of the universe… Armilla's metal circles support the opaline blown glass sphere which emits light from the light source found in the centre of the structure, exactly like the armillary sphere designed by the Copernicus era cosmographers whose theories were heliocentric.
