Drawing their inspiration from the Japanese tea tradition, Giel Dedeurwaerder and Brent Neve, from the Utilise.objects designer collective, created this wonderful solid acacia teacup. The warm soft and smooth wooden is very pleasant upon contact with the lips, with none of the cold feeling you get from glass or ceramic cups. Durable and ecological, the wooden also has insulating properties: it keeps the tea warm while stopping you from burning your fingers. The Collage tea service was rewarded at the Henry Van de Velde Awards 2019 in the habitat category. Giel Dedeurwaerder: „Collage is based on a perfect balance between material, form and proportions, and on the idea that tableware can also serve as a decoration instead of being stored away after use.“
