ALESSI Toothpick dispenser Natural wood Wood. Dimensions: 12.5 × 9 cm x H 9.5 cm. Notice to collectors, design fans and everyone who’d like to rediscover the essential figures of Italian design! The iconic Italian brand Alessi is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the “Alessi 100 Values Collection”: a collection of surprising objects from the Archives of the Alessi Museum. This series brings together projects that have never been produced before, never-before-seen versions of cult items as well as icons in the making. Twelve projects, each referring to a different value, will be presented over twelve months, from April 2021 to March 2022. „Alessi 100 Values Collection“ celebrates 100 years of research in the field of applied arts and the start of a new century of experimentation… Alessi or „industrial craftsmanship“ … Alessi is halfway between a mass production unit and a craftsman's workshop. All operations there are carried out using machines, but machines used in a spirit of craftsmanship, rather than conditioned by the logic of an assembly line. As such, they comply with all the designer’s expressive requirements. All time favourites presents a series of small objects representative of the „Twergi“ collection, born in 1989 from a desire to revitalise the tradition of woodturning, iconic know-how from the region where Alessi is located.Attentive to ecology and natural forms, Andrea Branzi is one of the designers most sensitive to the potential of turned wood, in his opinion one of the best materials for making „objects with which you can establish not only relations in terms of utility and functionality, but also of a psychological, symbolic, poetic nature“. A true domestic sculpture, this magnificent toothpick dispenser has a reserve of picks hidden in its pretty box. Grab the acrobat's foot, and he'll get you a toothpick! This toothpick dispenser is made in Italy using a partly manual turning process, from solid pear wood. The variations in grain, knots and appearance of the wooden make each object unique.
