Marimekko Tray Brown Wood. Dimensions: 27 × 20 cm. The Musta tamma (black mare) pattern was created by Finnish textile designer Maija Isola (1927 – 2001), which is the origin of Marimekko's iconic floral pattern: Unikko. A designer and painter, Isola has often used the same motif in her paintings and textile creations. The Musta tamma pattern is inspired by memories of Isola's childhood, when she imagined that she was running freely in the woods with a large group of horses. Very elegant, this small tray (27 × 20 cm) is ideal for serving tea, coffee or aperitifs. You can also use it to present appetisers, tapas and other delicacies. Created in 1951, Marimekko is a state of mind, a way of life based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko. The brand went on the enjoy enormous success, which continues today with a range of clothing and decorative accessories in vibrant colours.
