George Nelson (1908 – 1986) is considered one of the founders of American modernism. He contributed to the beginning of modern design with a human dimension. Designed in 1946, the Nelson Bench is entirely made of solid ash. It combines a seat made of natural ash slats with a solid base in black lacquered ash.
