Each headboard is an extraordinary, unique piece, hand-crafted from a single piece of old wooden (olive) which is then waxed. Just two Italian cabinetmakers work on making the Old Times collection, which requires exceptional craftsmanship.Old Times showcases wooden in its raw state: the defects which are generally glossed over here are highlighted and shown off. The knots and irregular contours of the headboard are the ingredients of a primitive aesthetic that draws a link between present and past. This bed tells us about those ancient times when men sat on tree trunks and rocks… The minimalist design of the copper black-painted steel structure superbly sets off the headboard.
