The drawer is divided into two compartments. The smaller one is for keeping a bread knife and is just underneath the part of the board without slits so that the breadcrumbs won’t fall on the knife. The second one has the same size as the surface with slits to catch all breadcrumbs that come up when cutting bread. You can then easily use the breadcrumbs for example to coat escalope or you can give them to birds. “Sbricola” is made of bamboo wood; the drawer is made of thermoplastic resin with a satin finish.
