The Spindle Egg Cups by UpGroup are a set of three solid marble eggcups designed by Feix & Merlin and handmade in Italy by local artisans using traditional methods. The eggcups are made from pieces of recycled marble that would have otherwise been discarded but instead have been lovingly restored into these beautiful eggcups. They come in three profiles: ‚The Dorchester‘, ‚The Wentworth‘ and ‚The Charlotte‘. The forms of each egg cup are inspired by the curvaceous profiles of traditional timber spindles and banisters. They come as a set of three or you can collect them individually to make up your own set! UpGroup is a family run business with a dedicated team of skilled craftsmen, and quarrymen using traditional techniques, skills that require years to perfect. The marble comes from the local quarries in the Massa area, midway between the sea and the Apuan Alps in the Tuscany region of Italy. They recycle and re-use offcuts to create other smaller objects making every attempt to minimise waste of this fine material. Made to order in Italy.
