Both interior and regular designer, the British Ilse Crawford has various projects which replace the human with nature at the heart of her work. After two years of development, she is presenting „Wellbeing“, her first collaboration with the Nanimarquina brand. This tactile collection which celebrates natural materials is a counterpoint to the modern world and its consequences. This collection of textile accessories (rugs, cushions, etc.) favours 100% natural and local materials as well as artisanal work. The natural fibres are guaranteed to be free from bleaching and dyeing in order to minimise their impact on the craftspeople and on the environment. Wool is spun then woven by hand by local craftspeople who use traditional artisanal techniques. The criteria defined for the Well Being collection included natural, sustainable and local fibres, spun by hand, free from bleach and dyes. These demands encouraged the Nanimarquina team to initiate an in-depth investigation process and to work with a great variety of materials, leading to a conscious sensory and beautiful result, focused on the human being. All the innovations applied constituted progress in Nanimarquina's body of knowledge in terms of manufacturing. The Wellbeing collection uses Afghan wool, nettle, hessian, linen, silk from Tussar as well as cork, wood, raw wool and raw cotton… All these materials are local: they are carefully sourced by the Nanimarquina team, as close as possible to the production site. These accessories with a simple and comforting beauty take shape through natural materials, and authentic finishes which encourage the senses to awaken. They add warmth, softness and comfort in our interiors. The „Well being“ collection is all about softness, simplicity and wellness. At the heart of this collection: a real expertise and the desire to design beautiful products based on tactility, materiality, craftsmanship and quality.Ilse Crawford on her work: "I am attentive to the finishes and colours, but also the production methods and lifespan of my creations via a vast sourcing work. With my colleagues, we favour natural materials which speak to our senses. We want to create pieces which are really so pleasant that they look like a photo. We aren't there to produce the image, rather to create concrete environments. We work with committed entrepreneurs, who want to create a better world. I am invariably dedicated to projects which combine wellbeing, functionality and sustainable development.
