Alessi Bottle opener Natural wood Wood. Dimensions: 7 × 19 cm. Notice to collectors, design fans and all those who want to rediscover the essential figures of Italian design! The iconic Italian brand Alessi is celebrating its 100th anniversary with “Alessi 100 Values Collection”: a collection of surprising objects from the Archives of the Alessi Museum. This series brings together projects that have never been produced before, never-before-seen versions of cult items as well as icons in the making. Twelve projects, each referring to a different value, will be presented over twelve months, from April 2021 to March 2022. “Alessi 100 Values Collection” celebrates 100 years of research in the field of applied arts and the beginning of a new century of experimentation… Alessi or industrial craftsmanship… Alessi is halfway between a series production unit and a craftsman's workshop. All operations there are carried out using machines, but machines used in a spirit of craftsmanship, rather than conditioned by the logic of an assembly line. In this way, they comply with all the designer’s expressive requirements. All time favourites presents a series of small objects representative of the Twergi collection, born in 1989 from the desire to revitalise the tradition of woodturning, an iconic know-how of the region where Alessi is located. No longer marketed since the early 2000s, the Ercolino bottle opener is making a comeback, reissued in all the elegance of its lines. Ercolino is a telling example of the joyful relationship Andrea Branzi has with the expressive potential of turned wood. In his eyes, it’s one of the best materials for inventing objects with which you can create not just bonds of use, but psychological, symbolic and poetic, too. Ercolino consists of a handle made of turned beech wood, into which the steel bottle opener fits. It’s made in Italy using a partly manual turning process, from FSC-certified wood. Variations in grain, knots and the look of the wooden make each bottle opener unique. Born in 1938, Andrea Branzi was in the 1960s one of the leading figures of the Archizoom movement, the first avant-garde collective of Italian design. Architect, designer and critic for the greatest Italian design magazines, in 1994 he received the Compasso d'Oro Prize for Lifetime Achievement.> Flash sale: special price for a limited time only.
