Alessi Lunch box Yellow Plastic material. Dimensions: L 19 x W 10 x H 13.5 cm – Capacity: 1 0.5 L central container + 2 0.4 L side containers (1.3 litres in total). Created by the Japanese designer, Sakura Adachi, Food à porter is a lunch box designed as a fashion accessory. The name expresses both the object's function and its decisive aesthetic value: a wonderful object to showcase and carry like a sophisticated bag. Food à porter contains your lunchtime meal or a snack like you have prepared it at home, allowing you to then eat it wherever you want! In the office, at school, in a park, etc. Food à porter is part of Japanese culture: the bento box in which lunch is placed with care and in a visually attractive way and lacquered objects are evoked by the alternating shiny and opaque surfaces of the three containers which make it up. This lunch box is made of three compartments made from thermoplastic resin with two lids equipped with a silicone seal. The central container (0.5 litres) is larger than the two side ones (0.4 litres). Sizes may be reduced if the lids are used. This lunch box is spacious, compact and extremely versatile due to the division into three containers and the option of using the two lids with seals depending on the kind of food you want to bring: a sandwich with a yoghurt and fruit, pasta, rice, a soup, etc. The three containers are held together by a silicone strap. Two different straps are included: a single band which surrounds the three containers and allows the lunch box to slip into a bag, and a double band which ends in two handles and turns the lunch box into a small bag. To reheat the food in the containers, only a microwave can be used. On the lids there is a small opening, sealed by a little silicone stopper, on which the cooking times to not exceed are indicated. Before inserting the container into the microwave, you need to open the stopper such that the steam can leave during reheating. The little stopper can also be opened to make removing the lid which hermetically seals the container easier.
