These posters feature abstract, geometric shapes combined with bold, distinctive hues. “What’s interesting for me is the strangeness of a form that exists but that we don’t recognise, whether painted or reproduced in three dimensions.” Nathalie du Pasquier is a painter, graphic artist and designer. In the 1980s, this famous visual artist was one of the founding members of the Memphis group, which formed around the iconic Ettore Sottsas. During these years, she designed numerous textiles, rugs, objects and items of furniture, as well as motifs for the furniture of other designers in the group. From her travels in Africa and Asia, which she undertook at the end of the 1970s, this striking style resulted which would permeate the Memphis creations. When the group broke up in 1987, she returned to her first medium, painting. We can immediately recognise Nathalie Du Pasquier's style: an explosive yet harmonious mix of exuberant patterns and vibrant colours. A world that evokes travel, African waxes with a quirky, rockstar touch. Embossed with the title and the artist's name, this poster is screen-printed on 270 g/m² Zen Pure White paper with an ultra-high-shine UV varnish highlighting the central subject of the piece.
